Tips from My Experience

•Rent a scooter for getting around if you’re confident of driving. Uluwatu is spread out, and to explore the places, a scooter will be your helpful partner. But the roads are not butter-like; expect potholes and steep climbs in places.

•Book accommodations at least 1-2 months in advance to get the desired room. Bookings are high in peak season (June–August).

•Sunset views are best from cliffside villas—totally worth the splurge for a night or two.

•Don’t underestimate the value of a place with a good cafe nearby—I found myself returning to The Cashew Tree and Drifter every day.
